Made With Love – Using The Same Materials for Various Looks

Hi everyone! I’m excited to show you some cards I’ve made for the Made With Love Design Team. Made With Love is a craft store in Singapore. If you’re living in Singapore, drop by the store! It’s at a mall called Somerset 313. All products showcased are available at the Made With Love store.

Today, I would like to share a few different looks you can achieve the same bunch of materials. If you’re new (or not), here’s some ways you can take the same die set, stamp and even enamel dots sets that you’ve purchase to create several different looks.

Card #1

To start, I have a separate card base where I die cut a heart-shaped window. If you don’t have the magnetic plate for your die-cutting machine, you can use a washi tape to hold your die-cut so that it won’t shift when it goes through the machine. I kept the heart that it cuts for another card (you will see it on Card #3).

Just to add some colour through the window, I added some Worn Lipstick & Fossilized Amber to the card base.

So, set that aside and stamp out the balloons on a watercolour paper and use the Distress Inks as my watercolour medium.

I cut out the balloons and add it to the cards. I used a black pen to just draw out the black strings. Add the sentiment and some pretty enamel stars and you’re done.

You know how in some die sets you get those tiny heart dies (for example) which you may use it sometimes but not as much as the bigger elements. Here’s one way you can incorporate it to your card.
I started by stamping my image first directly on the card base. I stamped it again on a thin writing paper to protect it while I sponge my distress ink at the top half of the card, to make a “sky”.

I accidentally deleted a photo of this but I basically took the small heart dies and die-cut the “sky” part of the card panel.  Add your sentiments and enamel dots and you’re done!

 Card #3dsc03920
This is my favourite 3 out of the three! Hehe. First, use washi tape or any low-tac tape and make “rays” out of them. Like in the image below. Remember that the thickness of your tape will be the thickness of the white space. So if you want a thinner white space, you should cut your tape or move them as your add your colours.

Even with the tape, I placed some white paper to protect the neighbouring colours. Again, I used distress inks for this because they are easy and they have great bright colours for this look.

To finish the look, I used gold stickles to outline the “rays” and use the heart shaped die cut from the first card for my sentiment to sit on. Add pretty enamel dots and ta-da!
