Made With Love – Quick Christmas Cards Ideas

Hi everyone! I’m excited to show you some cards I’ve made for the Made With Love Design Team. Made With Love is a craft store in Singapore. If you’re living in Singapore, drop by the store! It’s at a mall called Somerset 313. All products showcased are available at the Made With Love store.
Today, I will be sharing some Christmas Cards ideas that you could draw some ideas from to make your own. For these four cards, I’m trying to use basic tools so that if you’re not a big crafter or don’t want to spend too much money on materials (cause of all the christmas gifts you’re already buying), then I hope this post will be helpful.
Card #1

Let’s start with some simple cut and paste. I’ve started by gathering a number of patterned paper. For this card, all my papers are from Lawn Fawn. In this stack, they are all in some kind of plaid design. Some are colourful and some are in one colour but various shades.

I’ve decided to use more of the paper with the single colour and one colourful paper for a bit of pop. I’ve cut them all up in triangles in hopes that they would look like christmas trees 😉 Cut them all up in different sizes and just start sticking them down on my card base.

Of course, I can’t leave a card without adding embellishments. Enamel dots are my favourite type of embellishments to have in stock. These ones from Kaisercrafts (Sparklets) are perfect for christmas cards. For a simple message, I chose to use these stickers from Heidi Swapp (Buzzwords).

 Card #2

Continuing with the cutting and pasting, I’ve decided to take a part one of the cards from a premade Christmas card pack from Pebbles (psst, that’s one that you should look at. beautiful cards and all you have to do is write your message and send it).

Anyways, I’ve cut out the “happy holidays” and flowers from the card and rearrange the flowers on the card base. I’ve used the same enamel dots from Kaisercrafts (Sparklets) and My Mind’s Eyes (Blush) to create those hanging baubles. For the “strings”, I just use a simple black pen 😉

 Card #3

Now, let’s play with some colours. Let’s make something that can be more customised. I’ve used my black permanent waterproof pen to draw these gift boxes. You can get creative with it. Make it as tall as you want and as many boxes are you want. I’ve kept my boxes more to one side because I’m going to put a little message on the side.

I’ve coloured those boxes with Prima Watercolors. The message on the side, I’ve used Crate Paper (Oasis Alphabet Stamps) for the word “Happy” and for the word “holidays” I’ve just written it on my own. And of course, I have to finish the card of with some pretty and glittery enamel dots from My Mind’s Eyes (Blush).

 Card #4

Last card for today. I just went head on and started painting a loosely shaped Christmas tree. Same as before, I used Prima Watercolors to paint it. I’m not an expert on watercolouring but I did it slowly and started lightly (more water) and then add on more colours here and there to add some dimensions.

To add some sparkles, I’ve used those pretty enamel dots from Prima and word sticker from Heidi Swapp (Buzzwords).

I hope you’ve enjoy these cards and till next time!
